Belmont Fire Department Names Lt. James McNeilly as EMS Coordinator

BELMONT –  Fire Chief David DeStefano and the Belmont Fire Department congratulate Lt. James McNeilly on his new position as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Coordinator.

Lt. McNeilly is a 15-year veteran of the Belmont Fire Department. Previously, Lt. McNeilly served as the Advanced Life Support Coordinator. He will continue his current role in the Operations Division while also coordinating EMS services for the department.

The new position allows for a shift to provide one position responsible for the EMS program rather than splitting the duties between advanced and basic life support, as was previously the case.

“The appointment of Lt. McNeilly will allow for seamless coordination between all our EMS providers,” Chief DeStefano said. “We are now able to have one individual coordinate EMS and use a second person to accomplish public education and community relations, another important mission within our scope of services. We are grateful for Lt. McNeilly’s new role and know he will thrive in it.”
