Chief David DeStefano recently sponsored a “Coffee with the Fire Chief” at Fire Headquarters. In addition to Chief DeStefano, Asst. Chief Andrew Tobio, Capt. David DeMarco, and Capt. Robert Wollner were on hand to talk about the missions of the fire department and how the BFD serves the residents of Belmont in many ways. Those in attendance were able to find out about several life-saving initiatives, including home safety surveys, citizen CPR, and the deployment of the EMS Bike Unit. The Chief also spoke about the efficiency of response from each of the department’s two stations, allowing for the best possible medical outcomes and keeping many fires at their incipient stage.
